We have been so busy!

Well…it is hard to believe that it is already December! We have been married for over six months now! Danny and I both somehow managed to survive until Winter Vacation. We have worked on the house a whole bunch, done some fun things, and have been working a ton. I am looking forward for two weeks with out having to go to work. I have a ton of things on my to-do list that has been neglected for quite a while now. First is to finish a quilt I am making, then I need to wrap Christmas presents, write our Christmas letter/cards and send those, and I should probably clean my house! I think my New Year’s resolution will be to try and blog more. I still want to put up more pictures from the wedding, and it will be nice to get to write about some of the fun things we have been doing. Anyway, enough of my random rambling. Make sure to check back a little more frequently since I am hoping to write more often now!

What happens if you breath Freon???

The air conditioner in my car broke the other day. It would work for a few minutes, then really hot air would pour out for 10 minutes or so, then it would work again, then it wouldn’t work for 20 minutes…very annoying! Especially since it has been over 100 degrees this week and I have been driving all over the bay area doing errands. So I figured I would take it in to the dealership in a couple weeks when things settled down a little bit and I had less to do.

Then this morning plumes of what looked like smoke started coming out of the AC vents into the car!

Needless to say, I turned off all the air, AC and normal vent included. Which made it REALLY hot! I called the dealership and was able to drop it off this morning. Which is great, but I was kind of bummed because it is no longer under warranty and I was hoping to wait until my new job started because I knew it wasn’t going to be cheap.

Turns out, some regulator piece in the engine shorted out. This caused pressure to build up, which blew the compressor, which in turn destroyed the entire AC system…which caused FREON to come pouring out of the vents!!! Yeah…I knew it was some kind of chemical fume and not smoke lol. Needless to say, it is NOT a cheap repair.

BUT!!! That one regulator piece has an 8 year warrenty on it, and because that was the source of the compressor and AC failure the whole repair is FREE!

Man, I love when things work out like that! It totally made my day (and my check book!) happy!

Tulips!

This is a totally non-wedding related post, but these pictures are so amazing I just had to share them with you guys! These are aerial pictures of the tulip fields in the Netherlands near Amsterdam. Amsterdam is one of my three favorite places in Europe (in no particular order, Prague, the imperial gardens & zoo in Vienna, and Amsterdam). Amsterdam was one of the cities that Danny and I went to this past summer, but we didn’t get a chance to go out to the tulip fields (they weren’t really in bloom like they are now anyway).

I have never seen so many types of tulips as I did in the flower markets in Amsterdam….they were amazing!
And they lived happily ever after…
